CFR’s rCF Microfiber cut plastic-shrinkage crack width 42.4% at 0.25 lb/yd³ and 75% at 0.75 lb/yd³, with far lower embodied carbon than polypropylene microfiber.
Tazewell, TN September 03, 2026 –(PR.com)– Higher dosages deliver strong additional crack reduction while offering dramatically lower carbon impact than conventional polypropylene fibers.
Carbon Fiber Recycling, LLC (CFR) today announced strong plastic shrinkage crack control results for its rCF Microfiber.
Key Results
0.25 lb/yd³ → 42.4% average reduction in plastic shrinkage crack width – Exceeds the greater-than-40% threshold commonly required under ICC-ES AC32
0.75 lb/yd³ → 75% average reduction
“These results give engineers and contractors real choice,” said Doug Griffin of Carbon Fiber Recycling. “If the project simply needs to check the box and meet the specification, 0.25 lb per cubic yard gets the job done. When the goal is maximum crack control, increasing the dosage to 0.75 lb or higher delivers substantially stronger performance.”
Sustainability Advantage
rCF Microfiber delivers approximately 60–66 times lower embodied carbon per cubic yard compared with conventional polypropylene microfibers at equivalent dosages.
“Contractors and ready-mix producers no longer have to choose between performance and sustainability,” Griffin added. “rCF Microfiber provides both — and at competitive cost.”
Full technical details, including complete test data and the side-by-side comparison with conventional polypropylene microfiber, are available in CFR’s new Technical Bulletin, published on the company’s website at, CFR – Technical Data.
