Tagup Expands AI-Powered Logistics to Theater Sustainment in Support of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific

Tagup today announced that its existing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II contract has been modified to extend Manifest®, its AI-powered logistics platform, to selected theater sustainment use cases supporting U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific (MARFORPAC). The effort will apply Manifest to improve data integration, course-of-action analysis, and risk-informed sustainment planning in the Indo-Pacific. Manifest is currently in use at the tactical and operational levels of Marine Corps logistics; this new effort extends it to the theater level.
MARFORPAC is the largest operational command in the Marine Corps, comprising roughly two-thirds of the Corps’ active-duty combat forces. Those forces are forward-postured to deter conflict and respond to crisis across an area of operations spanning approximately 100 million square miles. Sustainment across that expanse means moving supplies over great distances to widely distributed units, where lift is constrained, supply lines are exposed to disruption, and demand shifts with every move. In a contested theater, sustainment is the pacing function: a single decision about what to position where and when can determine whether a distributed force can generate and sustain combat power.
Manifest turns that complexity into actionable sustainment options. It unifies fragmented logistics data into a common decision layer that enables commanders to understand how sustainment decisions ripple across the logistics network. Under this effort, Manifest will build and compare courses of action for critical equipment sets, parts, and commodities, and quantify their impact on readiness, cost, operational risk, and the ability to meet self-sustainment requirements. This effort will shift sustainment planning across the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) from static and siloed to dynamic and adaptive, strengthening the readiness and endurance needed to sustain combat power under contested conditions.

Current applications of Manifest include Marine Corps medical logistics, where it reduced purchasing costs by 25% and materiel handled by 30% without compromising readiness, and aviation logistics with Marine Aircraft Group 39. This effort will apply Manifest to air and ground logistics together, building a more resilient, survivable sustainment network for distributed and expeditionary operations. The same decision engine will reason from a single unit’s readiness to the posture of an entire theater.
The value compounds as the force scales. As additional organizations, equipment sets, and logistics data are incorporated into Manifest, its visibility across the enterprise becomes more complete, sharpening the decision support it provides.
The $2.1 million effort is funded through the Department of War’s Accelerated Research for Transition (ART) program, which supports transitioning technology toward programs of record through paired program and SBIR funding. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is the responsible contracting activity, with MARFORPAC as the supported command.
