The Los Angeles-based furniture brand expands its product portfolio with a collection exploring metal surfaces, sculptural forms, and material combinations for residential interiors.

LOS ANGELES, CA, October 14, 2026 — ZM HOME, a furniture and home furnishings brand, has introduced the Mercer Collection, a series of furniture designs featuring metal-based structures, textured surfaces, and sculptural forms. The collection represents an expansion of the company’s furniture portfolio, with an emphasis on the use of metal and its relationship with other materials commonly found in residential interiors.

The Mercer Collection includes furniture designed for living spaces, with a focus on proportions, surface treatments, and the interaction between different materials. The designs explore how metal elements can be incorporated into contemporary residential settings alongside wood, upholstered furniture, natural fibers, stone, and ceramics.

According to ZM HOME, the collection draws inspiration from traditional metalworking techniques while adopting simplified forms intended for modern interior environments.

Design Approach and Material Characteristics

The Mercer Collection incorporates visual characteristics associated with metalworking, including cast-like textures, irregular edges, variations in surface finishes, and defined structural forms.

Processes such as casting, grinding, polishing, and hammering serve as design references for the collection. These techniques inform the appearance and texture of the furniture, although the specific manufacturing processes may vary between individual products.

Rather than relying on elaborate decorative elements, the collection emphasizes material texture, geometric relationships, and the proportions of each piece.

This approach reflects a broader interest in furniture design that incorporates visible material characteristics while maintaining functional considerations for residential use.

The collection also examines the relationship between furniture structure and visual composition, particularly how metal surfaces interact with surrounding objects and interior finishes.

Integration With Residential Interior Materials

The Mercer Collection includes furniture intended for use in living rooms and other residential spaces, including occasional tables and other accent pieces.

The designs consider the interaction between metal furniture and materials such as linen, rattan, solid wood, stone, and ceramics. These combinations create differences in texture, reflectivity, and visual density within interior environments.

For example, metal side tables can be positioned alongside upholstered seating, while coffee tables with darker or textured surfaces can introduce contrast in rooms containing natural wood or lighter textiles.

The collection’s design direction also considers how variations in lighting affect the appearance of metal surfaces throughout the day.

According to the company, these material relationships form part of its ongoing approach to furniture development, which examines how individual pieces contribute to the overall composition of residential interiors.

Planned Expansion of the Material Range

ZM HOME has outlined plans to expand the Mercer Collection through the introduction of additional materials, including aluminum, iron, cement, marble, glass, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF).

These materials offer different structural and surface characteristics that may influence future furniture designs.

Aluminum provides options for relatively lightweight structures and reflective finishes, while iron can be used for designs requiring different weight and structural characteristics. Marble, glass, and cement offer additional possibilities for combining solid and transparent surfaces.

MDF may also be incorporated into selected furniture designs, depending on construction and finishing requirements.

The planned additions are intended to broaden the collection’s material range while maintaining a consistent approach to proportion, surface treatment, and furniture form.

Specific product details and availability for future additions have not yet been announced.

Development of ZM HOME’s Furniture Portfolio

The introduction of the Mercer Collection forms part of ZM HOME’s ongoing development of furniture and home furnishing designs.

The company’s broader design approach emphasizes the relationship between materials, furniture proportions, and the practical requirements of residential spaces.

While its existing design direction incorporates natural materials and upholstered surfaces, the Mercer Collection extends that approach to furniture featuring metal as a primary visual and structural element.

The collection also reflects the company’s exploration of different material combinations, including the use of contrasting surfaces and textures within individual rooms.

Through the Mercer Collection and its planned additions, ZM HOME aims to further develop its furniture portfolio across different material categories and design applications.

Additional information about the collection is available through the company’s official website.
