MSUFCU President and CEO brings three decades of credit union leadership and CUSO operating experience to the board
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Nymbus, a modern core banking platform for U.S. banks and credit unions, today announced the appointment of April Clobes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), to its Board of Directors.

Clobes already serves on the board of Nymbus CUSO, formed in March 2021 to connect credit unions with trusted fintech offerings that simplify technology delivery and open new digital growth opportunities. Her appointment to the Nymbus Board of Directors broadens that involvement to the company level, where she brings experience from both sides of the technology equation as the leader of a $9.3 billion credit union and as the chief executive of a CUSO built to invest in and scale fintech companies serving the industry.
Clobes has spent three decades at MSUFCU, joining the credit union in 1996 and moving through a range of positions before being named President and CEO in 2015. She also serves as CEO of Reseda Group, the wholly owned CUSO MSUFCU formed in 2021. Under her leadership, MSUFCU serves more than 415,000 members through 35 branches and employs more than 1,400 people.
“Credit unions are competing against institutions with far larger technology budgets, and collaboration is how we close that gap,” said Clobes. “Nymbus gives credit unions a practical path to modern technology without waiting years to get there. I look forward to helping the board expand that access across the industry.”
Her appointment builds on an established working relationship between the two organizations. In 2025, MSUFCU partnered with Nymbus to convert two acquired community banks, Algonquin State Bank and McHenry State Bank, onto Pillur, a digital banking platform built to serve small and medium-sized businesses. The partnership recently earned a Finopotamus Tekkie Award for Core Innovation.
“April has built one of the most forward-thinking credit unions in the country and then built a CUSO around it, so she understands exactly what we are building at Nymbus,” said Jeffery Kendall, chairman and CEO of Nymbus. “She knows where credit unions get stuck, which partnerships actually deliver, and what it takes to turn technology into growth. Her perspective will help guide how we serve credit unions of every size.”
Named one of the Most Powerful Women in Credit Unions by American Banker, Clobes has been recognized with an ATHENA award from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, an Honorary Alumni Award from Oakland University, the Michigan State University Distinguished Alumni Award, and three Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces Leadership Awards. She earned recognition as a Crain’s Detroit Business Newsmaker in 2023 and as a 2026 Women of Influence honoree. She serves on several fintech advisory boards along with numerous organizations supporting the credit union industry and the broader business community.
