NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — H1, the AI-powered platform that connects the world to the right doctors, today announced that it has been selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide Ground Truth Data Sourcing and Licensing and Data Aggregation, Quality, and Assurance Services for the National Provider Directory (NPD).
The NPD is intended to establish a trusted, accurate, and comprehensive national source of healthcare provider information. By bringing together high-quality, reconciled provider data, the NPD is designed to serve as a foundation for improved care coordination, reduced administrative burden, and greater transparency across the U.S. healthcare system.
Under the award, H1 will support two core areas of the NPD initiative: Ground Truth Data Sourcing and Licensing, and Data Aggregation, Quality, and Assurance Services. H1 will help CMS improve the completeness and reliability of provider records that power the NPD by sourcing and licensing authoritative data, normalizing and validating it, and conducting data-quality assessment, enrichment, and correction activities.

By addressing critical data quality issues that plague provider data including outdated addresses, incorrect affiliations, and fragmented data across systems, the NPD is intended to make it easier for more than 2 million active healthcare providers to maintain accurate directory information through more streamlined processes. It is also designed to help more than 100 million Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries identify the right provider at the right location and support Medicare Advantage plans, payers, and health systems in building more accurate networks and reducing the risk of “ghost networks,” in which a provider appears available but is not accessible to patients.
